Sharon Smith, President and owner of EnviroSure, Inc. says, “We approached SCORE over two years ago to assist us with the next phase of growing our environmental professional services business.  Our experience has exceeded our expectations where SCORE has helped us become a profitable business in a difficult economy.  They have guided us to develop a business plan and have provided SCORE counselors to function as an on-going advisory board.”

EnviroSure, Inc is a five year old growing business that offers environmental consulting services.  Currently with eight employees it is a SBA certified HUBZone small business and is women-owned.   Their services include environmental site assessments, brownfield redevelopment, soil and groundwater investigation and remediation and underground storage tank closure services.  EnviroSure has experienced a 50% growth in revenue over the past year and is projecting a similar revenue growth for 2011.  Their clients include federal government agencies, real estate developers and contractors, and commercial lending institutions.  Sharon says “By maintaining integrity and delivering great value, we provide our customers with peace of mind while identifying and mitigating environmental liability.  Our level of service is driven by our commitment to collaborate with customers and provide innovative and cost-effective solutions”.

 John Hammond, EnviroSure’s principle SCORE mentor is a retired executive who was previously with a local, large area environmental consulting company and “A perfect fit for assisting us with the growth of our business”, says Sharon.  Charlie Espenlaub a SCORE counselor has recently joined John Hammond and are functioning as an on-going advisory committee, meeting about once per month.  Scott Smith, co founder and EnviroSure’s Vice President says “We started working with SCORE in early 2009 and after helping us complete our business plan as a living document, SCORE has assisted us as our executive committee helping us manage our priorities.  Our business goal has been to achieve a sustainable cash flow by progressive growth and profitability”.  Scott says “John asked the right questions to help make this a useful plan and guided us in making good choices”.  John stated that over the past 18 months they have worked together to develop a process to manage the business by incorporating business tools such as SWOT analysis and a balanced scorecard methodology.  Scott further elaborates “Proven successful performance has fed our growth.  We meet monthly with our SCORE team to review the progress of our established goals using a developed set of measurable metrics in a scorecard format”.
