One of the practice's founding partners, Dr. Robert Mogyoros, an oral, maxillofacial and implant surgeon, gained special training in this innovative, FDA-approved, patented procedure, known as All-on-4™, in Colorado. He teamed with two other specialists, Dr. John Thaler and Dr. Joseph Havrilla, with the goal to establish a new firm that would offer this exciting new service to patients in suburban Philadelphia. Following two years of planning, and after recruiting a lab director and other professional and staff members, By Design Dental Implant Center opened its doors in December 2012.
Cliff Gratz, manager and treatment consultant, says the firm first met with Chester County SCORE in September 2011 as part of the planning process. Led by Bob Wingerter, a team of SCORE mentors played an integral part in the planning process, meeting with the principals six times since then. “It’s been a wonderful experience,” Gratz noted. “They critiqued our business plan, reviewed our marketing strategy and recommended financing options. I can’t tell you how pleased we were every time we came out of a meeting with SCORE. Their input was and is invaluable and has played a key role in our success to date.” After just three months, Ratz says the firm is cash-flow positive and is ahead of its sales projections. “We look forward to what we hope will be a long and prosperous relationship with SCORE.”
